As a teacher, I am always trying to budget my money and look for the best deals. All over social media, you see major influencers posting about meal delivery kits. I love this concept, because cooking is not my strong point. My problem has always been the cost. Most of these delivery services are around $50 for a 3 meals for 2 people. When you break it down, this comes out to about $8.50 a person per meal. I know… this is not very expensive. Like I previously said, I’m always looking for the best deal though and I found it in EveryPlate.
EveryPlate offers 3 meals for 2 people for only $4.99 a serving (or less if you see below and use my link!) It is owned by the same company as HelloFresh. I tried it out and was super impressed. For reference, I’ve also tried HelloFresh and Home Chef. My comparisons of EveryPlate will be based on those two delivery services.
Packaging
The first difference I noticed with EveryPlate is the packaging. The produce comes mixed together in one box. The meat comes packaged with dry ice, which is identical to the other meal delivery services I have tried.
The produce being mixed wasn’t a huge deal for me. Of course I like when all ingredients are packaged nicely in one bag for each meal, but picking out what I needed for each meal took about 30 seconds longer.
The sauces, oils, and condiments are also packaged separately. Once again, not a big deal.
Meals
As a single parent, I only choose meals that are kid friendly and easy to cook. I noticed there weren’t as many options with EveryPlate as other delivery services, but I was able to easily find three meals that looked delicious and fit my needs.
The first meal that I cooked was Garlic Rosemary Chicken with Roasted Vegetables. It was easy to cook and my son and I both enjoyed this meal. I really enjoyed the mixture of vegetables with this dish.
Like other services, each meal with EveryPlate came with a card with detailed steps on how to cook the meal. I found the instructions super easy to follow, which is a plus because I am not the world’s best chef.
The second meal I cooked was Pork Bibimbap. This was a new meal for me. I was hesitant to try it, but it was also very tasty. This was a super easy meal and would be one I can easily recreate on my own. I think if I cooked it again I would add more seasoning to the beef, as the flavor wasn’t anything special.
The last meal I tried was Gravy Lover’s Meatballs. I knew ahead of time this would be a hit with my son, and I was right (minus the broccoli… we can’t win them all).
The meatballs were delicious! You can tell my meatballs don’t look even close to the meatballs in the picture. I went a little overboard on their size. Despite my oddly shaped meatballs, it was a yummy meal. The meatballs were very flavorful and went well with the broccoli and mashed potatoes.
Cost
This is always the big one for people. EveryPlate is much cheaper than other delivery services. The cost is $38.93 for 3 meals for 2 people. If you want to try EveryPlate, which you should, you can CLICK HERE and grab $20 off your first box. This will make your first box less than $20 for 3 meals for 2 people.
Overall, I was impressed with EveryPlate. The food tasted just as good as the more expensive delivery services. The only big difference I noticed was in the packaging. This was a difference I can deal with if I’m going to save money.
